So you don't like the MacBook therefore nobody could have any valid reason to like it?

Consider why these companies given employees MacBooks in the first place. (The answer is usually that Linux doesn't work well enough for them.)

No, the answer is that they don't have a lot of people that use Linux. You can't honestly tell me that Macs work better than Linux for most of the tasks a programmer or devops needs to do on a daily basis. I know it's true that they don't work as well as Linux machines because I have had to support both platforms over my twenty years in this industry. Here's a neat trick (and just one example): Set up LDAP authentication on a server and then try to get your MacBook's to work. Good luck!
