Do downvoted/flagged comments not show up in the results? I was curious after this comment and went through several pages for this user. I didn't find anything other than a lot of insightful posts

In general, you need to set 'showdead' to 'yes' in your profile to see most of the worst things that get posted to HN. I can't remember if that applies to the specific comments I was referring to there.
