I think there is something to be said (by someone willing to put more thought into it) regarding how much we as a society have churned away at computing and turned into something /refined/... Perhaps an analogy of what I'm thinking is people chewing coca leaves vs snorting cocaine? Maybe too extreme, or not extreme enough?
Something really changed when the Internet stopped being a physical place you had to go to (a computer, at a desk) and remain at to keep using it.
Maybe a slightly less extreme analogy would be highly processed food vs. traditional food... I feel like I'm just learning that white bread isn't really healthy and is nutritionally deficient after many years of vigorous consumption.
You take whole wheat, bleach it, then add nutrients back into it so you can have the original product... now call it Wonder Bread.
Michael Pollan commonly writes about this. https://michaelpollan.com/books/in-defense-of-food/
Worse: You take whole wheat, bleach it, then add some of the nutrients back in, and you call it "enriched".
