I don't doubt that it works, but last I checked, Sixel support wasn't very widespread (I don't use Windows) whereas ANSI support is near-universial in my experience. For higher resolution monochrome (good enough for graphs), you can use the 2x4 Braille Unicode glyphs [where supported].
