FYI you can probably get unlimited data now for same price as your old cheap plan, at least in the US.

For very minimal use, a "cheap prepaid plan" can cost $5 a month or less.
Exactly. I'm paying a bit less than $7 a month. And that includes having to reup on a slightly more expensive plan every few years for more minutes.
Fair enough, that is super cheap and minimal.
