Hereditary peers are gradually being phased out over a series of reforms over the last 200 years. Only about 10% of current peers are hereditary.

Hereditary peers are gradually being phased out over a series of reforms over the last 200 years. Only about 10% of current peers are hereditary.
And the House of Lords has very limited influence.
