Is there some kind of effect where something is so well known that it doesn’t get brought up? Like a reverse bathtub curve?
Reminds me of the challenge of figuring out the rules to the Royal Game of Ur. It was surprisingly widespread and popular in the ancient world. There were sketched game boards and references to it in written sources, but hardly anyone had written down rules for it. It was held to be common knowledge.
I think there might be! It was sort of old hat by the time HN came along.
