Users probably flagged your post because on HN a previous thread is only considered a dupe if it got significant attention, and that one didn't. (This is in the FAQ: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26998308), because we noticed that not only did that submission not get attention, the essay really hadn't been discussed much on HN over the years.
