Ex-CEO of Russian Yandex made a post in an internal network explaining she moved to Israel, and, among other things, saying "I don't want to live in a country waging wars with its neighbours (sic)". I wonder if she understood her own hypocrisy.
“Neighbours” isn’t misspelt there, that’s the British spelling.
That was in March 2022, before the recent stuff kicked off.
"Recent stuff" has little to do with the hypocrisy of this statement.
The statement was present tense. I don't think there were wars being waged at the time. Also when coalition of dictators A say they want to wipe small democratic country B off the map and attack it then I'm not sure A and B are equivalent and moving from an A to a B is hypocrisy.

Russia unambiguously occupies territory in Ukraine, starting the Ukrainian conflict.
Israel is unambiguously occupying PA territory.
While the matter of PA might be controversial, Israel is unambigously occupying Syrian territory - that is, the Golan Heights.

Everyone who ever waged war since the dawn of time though they are justified or entitled to do it.
Russia invaded Ukraine to defend endangered Russian minorities. Israel pounds tens of thousands of civilians that they were already treating inhumanely into dust to defend against terrorists. US blew up villages in Asia or weddings in the Middle East to defend democracy. Germany plunged Europe into war to defend the dream of the third Reich.
It's "only" a matter of painting yourself as a victim or as a defender of what's right. Even a robber will justify breaking into your home or killing your family by the need to feed their family.
But to address your point head on, there is absolutely no way the war Israel waged on Palestine for decades, killing more acutely these days, is about any reasonably justifiable defense more than the Holocaust was in defense. It's just one more step into implementing the extremist views that the current Israeli leadership always had. But if you have enough money and ignorant enough audience the world is your oyster.
