This whole conversation is depressing me. when I left work a couple years ago due to health reasons, AI was just beginning to become a problem. Now, thanks to a clinical study, I may possibly be able to return to work, and it sounds like the industry has changed drastically.
Not looking forward to it.

I think that the effects at the moment are highly exaggerated in the tech media than the reality on the ground.
How long that will remain true is a very open question, where different folks have widely differing timelines on when they expect AI to have highly meaningful impacts.
