Yes, it is right they do not care. This is the reason RubyOnRails teached us how to go fast on web development.

The problem is that there is no good rule to choose the RIGHT stack, and that is the challenge!

For instance Joel Sposlky's team chose ASP.NET for "Stack overflow" simply because they know it better than, say PHP or Java Struts 1.x
