Yes, there are other reasons people choose software. That's why GP said all else equal. You just ignored the most important part of his post.

Yes, hypothetically if all else is equal, and the difference isn't noticeable, then the users experience is equal. But it's a hypothetical that doesn't actually exist in the real world.

Competing software equal in every way but speed doesn't exist except for some very few contrived examples. Different pieces of software typically have different user interfaces, different features, different marketing, different functionality, etc.
