I was thinking benign in comparison with all the other shit going on. But yes it certainly does enable/encourage the scammers (not that they needed encouragement). It mostly just affects Trump’s base which will get shafted and maybe serve to wake some of them up to the fact that they’re being scammed and then maybe things will change in the next election. When you hit people’s pocket books they forget about everything else.
