The original post/blog said a debug hello world was 3.7MB. I confirmed the post.

A release build is:

426K Feb 21 15:28 target/release/helloworld

If you use lto, codegen-units = 1 and strip then you get:

323K Feb 21 15:30 target/release/helloworld
