Oh, and one other thing: a grid that is 35% natural gas doesn't mean you only have turbine capacity for 35% of the grid demand, it means that of the total energy put onto the grid, 35% is from natural gas. The peak NG could supply could be much greater.
A 65%/35% renewable/natural gas grid probably doesn't need any storage at all.
