So, nobody sneaks into the country for a conference without a visa. Like, you're imagining engineers are crossing the rio grande with a coyote in the middle of the night to go to a tech conference? Really?

This post was asking if professional technology people were nervous about coming to tech conferences in the US. They all come with visas or from places with visa-waivers. They are not coming "illegally". But some people are nonetheless scared about being detained by US authorities, is what the OP was asking about. (Because it has happened).

That's why people think it's you who are seeming out of touch with reality in your response, suggesting that tech engineers are considering sneaking into the country without a visa somehow to attend tech conferences.
