I don't think Americans know the extent of missed opportunity.

- The phone in your pocket? ARM chip. Was a British company.

- Google Deepmind? British too, but they weren't the Google Research/Google Brain people that made "Attention Is All You Need" paper that gave us today's LLMs. Still sucks though.

Most successful British teams I know are located in Miami, or funded from Palo Alto.
