They're already being eliminated... I'm using freelance designers much much less these days because I just don't need them anymore with AI tools.
I've seen others use AI so they don't have to hire engineers to build things (basic things like simple websites, but still).
The problem becomes when you want the logo to match the rest of the design. The bar raises on what a simple website is.
