Freed | Software Engineers (Fullstack / AI / SRE), Tech Lead Manager | REMOTE (US, Canada) | https://getfreed.ai | Full-time

Doctors are overworked, burnt out, and are quitting in masses.

I'm head of engineering at Freed, where we combine clinician love with the latest AI tech and intense execution to create products that make clinicians happier.

Our first product is an AI scribe that automates medical documentation.

- Acquired 17,000 paying and loving clinicians

- Generate 70,000 patient notes daily using ASR and LLMs, and have saved clinicians 2.7 million hours

- Created a consumer-grade UX, with greater enthusiasm than any product I've seen (https://love.getfreed.ai/b2xGQ1)

- Raised $30M led by Sequoia Capital, and are rapidly expanding our product offering.

Our engineering culture emphasizes speed, end-to-end ownership, responsibility, and independence. Our tech stack is React and TypeScript / Node.js.

(Note: Canada isn't listed on the JDs on the web, but we do consider Canada for software engineer roles)

Hi, love the problem that Freed is solving (I think my family doctor may even be using this as they asked for my permission about AI usage?)

I noticed most of the positions seem to be high in years of experience required, are y'all strict on this?

  • Yeah, because we are a remote-first company, we only hire mid-level & senior engineers. I think it does a disservice to early career engineers to work remote. There is a lot you can learn by working in a much higher bandwidth communication setting.

    • speaking of remote-first, you accept applications only from US and Canada, not Europe, right?

  • Not just strict, but their interview process is high-leetcode/old-Google-style.

I wouldn't bother unless you're an ex-FAANG engineer with a hefty resume and regularly practice hard-level algorithmic problems.
