For development (and experimenting & learning) I run my own Nominatim instance.

My customers who use the geocoding and mapping feature in production are very into data privacy and sovereignity, so they had Geofabrik build them their own infrastructure on premises.

I think back in the day, when I ranted about Positionstack on Twitter, we may have chatted for a bit.
