Speckle contrast optical spectroscopy for cuffless blood pressure estimation

I'm not put off by the estimation part. It still seems like an improvement.

Automated BP readers

Reliably read 20 points above a manual BP read for me.
Hurt. They pump way beyond the point where I feel a response.

  • My doc has an automated one of the same make I have at home, most of the time it reads about the same as a manual reading. Either way current guidelines are you sit down for 5 minutes before you take a reading.

    • Does your automated one hurt? If not, that could indicate your device is an outlier.

You'd also be the first person I've come across that said their experience with an automated cuff didn't hurt. I figured that had to be a thing; I just hadn't run into it yet.
