RIP Chris. We briefly exchanged emails during the development of Hack. Having read the obituary, I understand better now why I sensed so much goodness and positive energy from only a couple of paragraphs.
Hack is a beautiful font, long time user since its inception. I even use it in the terminal. Any other fonts I tried always felt slightly off for some reason and I keep going back to Hack. Knowing he had a hand in it, I'll give Google Sans Code a try.
From kidney transplant surgery to typeface design... he's probably the only person on the planet with such a trajectory.
Thank you for sharing this. He appeared to be a truly captivating and gifted individual. His untimely demise is a tragedy. Rest in peace.
Wow, that's sad. I've switched to Google's Sans font entirely and love it. RIP Chris.
Hack was a relatively minor improvement over DejaVu Sans Mono. Google Sans Code seems like a more deep rework, and I like it!
It's sad that I learn about it only as the person who had worked on it passed away. RIP.
RIP Chris. I will use your font faces in my next project in your honour.
