does we really need to register LLC to upload into appstore???? that's seem excessive no? especially if your app isnt generating profit

If you don't use an LLC, then you have to register as a human person and it lists your personal name on the app store. That means weird people will find you and send you letters, packages, random invoices, emails, dms, etc. It really isn't cool (from experience).
No you don't. You can submit an app as a solo developer. I formed the LLC for my design consultancy so just used the same for my Apple dev account.
