If you don't know something for sure, it's best to not make assumptions. We're not LLMs and don't need to spit out something confidently without understanding it.
I have enough of a machinist background to know that either he has measurement tools, or he has no clue what the tools are. there is a tiny chance they onlp made parts to fit each other without measuring sizes - but that seems very unlikely and can be discounted without even knowing them.
