Was that really the aim?

Or just getting kids hooked on tech and bowing to our tech overlords at a younger age?

I've seen many initiatives to "bring technology into the classroom". It always came with big promises. Lots of budget was allocated. No improvements.

Of course I was referring to the /real/ aim, not the well-publicised headlines and initiatives.
