Human beings share our experiences with one another and reflect on them via storytelling. This has been our way for millennia, if not millions of years. No subject is too trivial, nor profound; too obvious, nor intimate.

Communication enables us to live lives we couldn't otherwise, accruing both lessons and solidarity. These are benefits of titanic value.

The long and short of it is, we've got to lie down, but it's hard to keep the dogs off the bed.
