It’s just about information that was already publicly available on X’s site and app.

The EU commission has no right to let researchers perform studies on users of the platform without the explicit consent of each user whose content is included in the study, so kudos for upholding their rights. There is also precedent that this 'research' loophole has in the past been abused to massively scrape data off Twitter.

Additionally, this whole thing isn't just about X, but also about "N"GOs like "Hat aid" who sue individual citizens for stating their opinion on the internet.
