But that’s the thing, why is it this way? Driving a Hyundai or a Toyota you wouldn’t notice the difference, but learning a new OS is so hard that people don’t do it.

I wish the ergonomics would be more standard so switching costs aren’t so high.

Because it benefits the tech companies to make their user interface different enough to make it difficult to relearn another one. There are no official standards like there are for the vehicle user interface.

  • Vehicles don’t have an official standard, just a de facto one.

    If someone invented a superior way to control a vehicle everyone else would adopt it. But things have settled I guess.

    I guess the set of inputs to a car is smaller than a computer..
