A Republican: "I want to establish deterrence by creating lethal warriors"
HN: "oh my god, they're begging to start a war!"
Republicans are war-mongers, everyone knows that, including their consistency. It's a key part of why people vote for them.
Now, granted, most US politicians are war-mongers. It's just part of our blood. But still, that shouldn't be a surprise.
Shifting the tone and language away from defense and peacekeeping and towards warmongering isn’t good for anyone.
“We sent our people to school and after becoming smarter they stopped believing our ideology so we’re going to keep them stupid instead”
“Lethal Warrior”
Given how modern warfare worked even before the drone era began with Putin’s war on Ukraine, the idea of building a military of “lethal warriors” as opposed to a military of strategic excellence with great logistics is backwards.
