I don't think inheritances and employment are similar. No one in my family has ever had one so it may not be my area of expertise.

In my xp, older people take less shit and that's why they are less likely to be hired especially in startup world for -20% salary and +40% work. Camaraderie is personality trait I would say, and you may never get it in your line of work or jobs. It's quite rare.

"Get even" -> I have never seen this except in non-tech by extremely old boomers. Usually 55+, close to retirement, some kind of legal reason why they can't be fired easily. I left those jobs as soon as I could.

I regret to inform you that loyalty is not real in our industry.
