Honestly, if app complexity and size justifies few more MBs of bloat, Python + Pyside is the best option to make UIs, be it Win-only or cross-platform. You get the power of Qt with stuff like hardware-accelerated QGraphicScene exposed via nice, concise, high-level language that also gives you access to some best-in-class libraries. Performance hit is negligible if you know what you are doing (what may not be the case in 2026 and age of vibe-coding).

Unless, of course, you tend to whine about "complex licensing", i.e. people wanting to make money as you do.
