People in this thread reading only the title and commenting knee-jerk responses (as is HN or any link submission forum tradition) like "actually, the website is for me," not understanding that the article is about business websites not personal ones, meant for converting customers to using your product or service.

And in this case, the article is exactly right, the website is not an art piece, it must serve the function of making people buy from you to be successful, otherwise your company is a very expensive hobby.
