Show HN: A Free Crunchbase Alternative

crunchbase is $49 which is honestly too much if your not an actual angel or VC, as a result I decided to make this site, I use custom built agent pipelines to cross reference public sources, then I write and review the profiles and publish them to the site. Right now Ive only made a few profiles, and I'm hoping to get feedback on whether or not people would be interested in me releasing more.

Nice... if not cruchbase, then where do you get the data to fill out the profiles? In general, it would be great if you added an API with the extensio

  • Thank you! I made like an internal admin dashboard where I can send agents to collect tweets, blog posts, articles, etc. about the company. Then using this I can cross reference info, so for example if the CEO tweets they did 5 million in revenue last year, and this year their CMO writes a blog post that they have 50% customer growth, I can assume they did 7.5 million in revenue this year. Normally stuff like this wouldn't be possible for just 1 person, but thanks to the AI agents it is. Also for the API, I'm working on getting that, right now we only have about 10 profiles, so once I've made a few hundred I'm planning on setting up the API.

    • Cool cool, if you US citizen(or just know some us citizens) add USPTO data too, it would be super useful to have info about patents in company profile + this is a cool source of signals at an early stage of startup development (especially if there is little public information about them from deep tech)

Curious if you plan to include SEC filings or just public sources? That'd be a game changer for startups
