Who actually has time to go back and look at that?

For many, the act of note taking, highlighting and marking up enhances the value of the reading. Revisiting is secondary.
This is eminently true for me. I rarely revisit notes, but if I take notes I have a much better recall and understanding than if I just consume the content.
Yep, and if I did there's no way I'd understand my previous notes.
