Can you elaborate on what makes you say this? I'm really struggling to understand the source of all the Anthropic hate on HN recently.
They are lobbying hard for a monopoly, or duopoly at best, in AI, based on protectionism rather than merit.

Put the pieces together. They are the ones lobbying for this. They've been attempting regulatory capture for years. They're also known for ripping customers off.
Well they were founded by splitting off from OAI because of ethics concerns, portraying themselves as the good guys, and then turned around and did nothing different than OAI. Basically I think people thought the big corporation was on their side, and are now surprised that they are no different than the competition, which can leave a sour taste in your mouth
