They're good at hardware - that being said no idea how easy it is to replace their batteries. The only devices I've used from them don't have touchscreens.
Maybe your better off with something like a refurbed iPod

No, I mean you're trolling in that you basically read nothing about my original comment.
1) You give a response that doesn't meet half of my requirements. 2) You then give a suggestion that's is fundamentally what I said I did in my original response. Congrats, you demonstrated my gripe about the comments on here too in my original response.
At this point, I can only assume you're trolling.
I'm not - there's a whole industry around replacing the batteries with modern versions and swapping the spinning disk to giant SSD. And there's different firmware / software if you don't like the apple interface. They tend to have a decent DAC integrated. If you want swappable batteries I imagine that might get you the best longevity in terms of available replacement batteries
