In the “I don’t see how this connects with the teachings of Jesus” sense I agree.
In the self labeling as “Christian”, sense not so much.
The current administration is not remotely shy about proclaiming its interest in a Christian theocracy.
Given the level of involvement the Heritage Foundation has in the current administration, I think you're absolutely wrong.
