Because there's friction in getting an adblocker. I don't think there are any that work on phones, and Google Chrome crippled theirs on desktop. You have to go far out of your way to have one.

Firefox mobile supports extensions, including uBlock Origin, there are also some ad-blocking Chromium forks. But I agree, on mobile, there is significant friction, for instance, I don't know any of them that can sync with your Google account.

And that's on Android, ad-blocking is even more limited on iOS (ironic considering the business model of Apple vs Google).
