Cars aren't even lying. In a modern car I really am safe, powerful, and in control. And the air conditioner helps keep me alert.

Until you get T-boned at an intersection, or a semi drifts into your lane, etc.
At the end of the day, you can only control your own car, not the environment it's in.
Nah. Most of those collisions are preventable if you pay attention and drive defensively. You probably don't know much about driving but it's actually possible to control the environment in most circumstances.
