I don't see anything wrong with this article.

I quite like projects getting funding and reporting what they did with said funding.

Is advertising Sniffnet and GH SOSF bad?

I thought this would be useful for budding OSS maintainers who would want to get funded by GH SOSF who might want to know from others what it is like from the inside.

Maybe the correct word is "case study".

But alas, I must fall in line with the HN consensus:

Advertising is bad, GitHub is bad (because of Microsoft), this is obviously slop and it provides no value.

If the goal is to advertise Sniffnet and GH SOSF then advertise Sniffnet and GH SOSF properly, instead of whatever this slop is. You could start by telling us the feature of Sniffnet and delete all the slop before the features of GH SOSF. Or, if you just want to brag that you got the funding, then make that the title instead of calling it "What I Learned"
