the particular danger now is not that the outside influence is new, but that more and more people are depending almost entirely on the information communication systems for all of their information.

the war against in person gathering and the family unit has been pretty successful, as they were pretty sloppy ways to exchange information to begin with. but at the very least you knew you were getting an actual opinion from someone, and you had context of their personhood and background for which to base that opinion.
