I think those are ultimately a locale dependent content bandwidth problem. Unwanted content has to be recommended if there were nothing else to show. Discovery feed on bsky.app gives me game news, local news, cat pics, some center-left politics, manga panels, food pics, random personal updates, cat pics, all warm and fuzzy stuffs.
I don't get any CSAM, alt-right, nazism, weed, ragebaits, unwanted gay contents. Simply none of those. But I don't normally set the language to English, and I suspect that might have to do with not getting those stuffs.
Bluesky is shrinking.

It is still far larger than all of the fediverse combined.
I dislike the fediverse, mostly because of the people on it.
Inside of your Mastodon instance there are two wolves. One of them is a gay neo-Nazi furry who keeps posting everyone dick pics. Why do you even put up with that?
