Probably for its use of the "TESCREAL" slur. Which it isn't even using accurately, since most people in basically all of the groups in "TESCREAL" think the administration sucks.

It's an acronym or neologism. The groups comprising it are often cult like, but I also don't view that as a controversial statement.

  • It's a slur. It was coined to be used pejoratively, it is in fact only used pejoratively, and the people it's used to describe reject it.

    It's also overgeneralized to the point where it may not point at any useful shared characteristics at all, but that's not what makes it a slur.

    • Is characterizing them as cultists also a slur then? Or calling out the outsized, malign impact they're having? Working a job in tech shouldn't require an adherence to the founder's quasi-religious beliefs about uploading their brain, inventing god or colonizing a dead rock.

The ones with money actively support this administration, and that's all that matters in latter-day American democracy: the ability to fund campaigns and buy political favors.
