It was fine up till the 13 mini. Every iPhone after that is too big and heavy to fit in a running belt without jostling.

I run daily with a 13 mini easily. My shorts have a pocket in the liner that makes it trivial.
I don't fully understand people that carry their phone in hand when running.
I used to have my phone on a strap around my arm. Even that stopped working
I run with phone clenched in hand.
