There's no way that's true. Otherwise everyone's phone battery would need to be completely replaced every 2 years

Edit: I just googled it. Apple claims that the iphone 17 should handle 1000 full charge cycles before reaching 80% capacity

Looks like I am going off old info. Up until the iPhone 14 it was 500 cycles to 80%, 15 and up is 1000.

I also believe apple’s claim is assuming optimal conditions. Real life is going to do a fair bit worse. So likely 700-1000 cycles for 80% if the pattern holds up.
