Was it? Iirc there was always something interesting on the front page besides the blockchain. Now there are days when there's nothing besides the "AI" created "AI" spam.

IMO the crypto / blockchain dominated periods were worse than the AI dominance of the moment. But YMMV I suppose!
I think it goes past 2018, but yes. It's a similar proportion of activity.
