I'm currently writing a history of this. What year in the 70s? I've struggled to find widespread logo use before the end of the 1970s.

I'm currently writing a history of this. What year in the 70s? I've struggled to find widespread logo use before the end of the 1970s.
I have a list of about 32 8-bit Logo implementations and the earliest is 1981 (Krell's and Terrapin on the Apple II). The latest is 1986 (Logotron on the BBC Micro). There were also 16-bit versions for DOS. After that there were other 16-bit implementations like Amiga Logo. Before that I think it was on mini-computers.
Check out Cynthia Solomon's underappreciated treasure trove of videos about Logo, including Seymour Papert, Marvin Minsky, Margaret Minsky, David Levitt, and others:

>Hasn't anyone here played Star Wars, the arcade game?!? It's the best! If I ever see that at an arcade again, I will whip out my credit card and buy it on the spot! I had a version for my Commidor64, but it was garbage.
My housemate brought home a Star Wars machine one day, and it became an important part of our lives. A very well designed game! After you blow up the Death Star, there's just enough time for bong hit.
