It's a good point but I'd argue having something to aspire to is a good thing, even if it's fictional.

To steal and paraphrase "the important thing about fiction isn't that you see that dragons exist, it's that you learn that they can be defeated".

Of course trying to emulate something you think is desirable based on false pretenses is its own problem, but that gets complicated.
