Unsurprising that they're both flagged. HN commenters really, really don't like to think about a world where they can't tell the difference between real and AI.
One commenter really nailed it[1]: "We didn't get worse at judging art. We just got better at doubting everything."
I’d say it’s more about confronting the ways in which art is just posturing, hype, and status games, and what it’s like to find out you’re in an “Emperor’s New Clothes” situation.
Makes sense, no? That’s a pretty terrible world
Did you think the same thing when Photoshop became mainstream?
Did you even realize basically all commercial images you've seen for the last 30 years were already heavily modified?
There is a big difference between a real image or video that has been modified and one that was created out of thin air via AI
