There was not only massive amounts of ecological damage due to russian destruction of the Kakhovka Dam (which was a war crime), but also at least 59 people died. This would be impossible at Chornobyl because nobody lives around it.

I'm not saying destroying the chornobyl sarcophagus would be great, but it wouldn't cause the same amount of damage.
